Horrorgami by Paper Dandy

Summary:

Paper Dandy’s Horrorgami features 20 kirigami (cut-and-fold) designs based around haunted houses and scenes from horror films by the creator of the successful Horrorgami blog and exhibition. Each project features step-by-step instructions and a template that you remove from the book. You then follow the lines on the template, cutting and folding to make your own kirigami model. All you need is a scalpel, a cutting mat and a ruler. Clear cutting tips help you with the tricky stages and give you an order in which to complete your work, while photos of the finished model show you the final design. Suitable for folding experts and beginners alike, Paper Dandy’s Horrorgami makes the perfect Halloween activity.

Book Review:

Okay guys I know I have been AWOL for like two weeks now… I am so sorry, I have just been really busy with school and then I had some health complications that left me feeling a bit depressed. But I’m back now and I do not plan on taking any more breaks for the time being.

Kirigami is a variation of origami that includes cutting of the paper (from Japanese “kiru” = to cut, “kami” = paper), rather than solely folding the paper as is the case with origami. This book is perfect for the holidays as it is filled with fun things to cut out and create for Halloween. As the title suggests this book is filled with haunted houses and scenes from famous horror films, it’s the perfect past-time for saddos like me that are too scared to watch these films.

I am new to the art of Kirigami so everytime I attempted something, I got so scared I would mess it up. But they ended up turning out pretty great and I have now used them as Halloween decorations all around my house, not that much to mum’s excitement though. (HAHAHAHA SORRY MADRE)
I would definitely recommend Horrorgami to anyone looking for a book to get them through this holiday season… Just sit back, relax and create a masterpiece.
